Fujitsu Siemens has quietly introduced an alternative addition to the Pocket LOOX range of PDAs. The N series of PDAs has seen its innovative Pocket LOOX PDA range expand in functionality with the help of an integrated GPS beneficiary. One of the first things we noticed as we unpacked this PDA was basically its small size plus more specifically, its narrow thickness. It is actually hard to imagine that Fujitsu Siemens managed to pack everything it would, including GPS, into that small form factor. Another feature we loved was that experts claim the GPS antenna is made into the body, so amount s of these to unfold a heavy aerial. Looking at the technical specifications from the N520, it features a 312MHz Intel XScale processor that has a 128MB ROM and 64MB or simply RAM, all of which usually runs on Windows Mobile 5.
Just below the 3. 5-inch LCD are almost all the common PDA buttons you'll discover on such a piece of equipment, including a special GPS button that can launch your GPS software package. Compared to the other devices in this roundup, we were some disappointed with the bundle that ships with this particular device. It only functions an AC adapter, UNIVERSAL SERIES BUS sync cable and pouch. We would have liked to determine the addition of a car charger too. As looks like the trend with PDA/GPS hybrids, that Pocket LOOX doesn’ longer ship with GPS software. Instead, you can purchase a particular optional software kit that contains a car cradle (car charger not included) as well as the City Navigator 4 software on a 128MB SD Card. Although software worked fine, you much preferred the HandyMap software, which is also available like a separate purchase. The Jean pocket LOOX N520 performed impressively under our test types of conditions, but was a little slow on occasion.
